TITLE: #15 - Only One

CHARACTERS INVOLVED: Takizawa Hideaki and Doumoto Kouichi.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: A bit of a crossover, but not much really. Brian and Justin from QAF.
"Hideaki?" The syllables of his name rolled off a foreign tongue and Takizawa looked up from his paperwork to see one of his guardians, Justin, walk through the door with graceful strides, blue eyes shining and smile blindingly white. "Don't you think it's time to head home?"
"After this." Takizawa returned the smile, alebt less brilliantly, his English perfect in response. The other shrugged and made himself comfortable in the seat before Takizawa's desk as the younger returned to signing the papers in front of him. "Has Brian gone home yet?"
"He's probably out somewhere trying to get laid or something." Takizawa could hear the roll of eyes in the blond in front of him. The eccentricities of his guardians had ceased to shock him over time and he'd grown to expect it. At least in Brian's case. Justin gave up the club life after Takizawa came to live with them. None of them expected Brian to follow suit. He respected both of them, even though he would never understand their relationship. How one could still love someone who could never really be loyal was beyond him.
But then again, he had fallen in love with a whore, so really he had no place to judge.
"Hideaki?" Takizawa looked up from his papers once again to see Justin's face grow serious. "What's wrong? Why did you come back home?"
Takizawa looked away from Justin's piercing gaze. He hadn't told either of his guardians the real reason he came back to the states. He knew that Brian wouldn't care, but he would be foolish to think that Justin wouldn't purse an answer. "Just tired, that's all."
"It's more than that." Takizawa was reminded a bit of how Justin had been during middle school when the other had been all over him because he so needed to know all the details of his first crush. He wondered sometimes if Justin had ambitions of being a mother. "Something happened in Japan and you're not telling us." His arms were crossed and Takizawa knew that he wasn't going to get out of this easily.
"I needed to get away," Takizawa kept it vague. It had only been a month since he'd broken his own heart. Reliving it was not on his agenda for the near future. "So I came back here."
Justin was quiet for a bit, allowing Takizawa to resume his paperwork in silence.
"Is he the one, then?" The question seemed to reverberate through the room.
Takizawa didn't answer. He didn't need to.
