Rush the goodbye & tears get lost in the shuffle
So, in the continuing saga of how much Southwest Airlines suck....
We took the kids to a completely different airport yesterday, where it took 45 minutes to check in because the computer kept dumping all the info. FIVE times I had to repeat the names, addresses, and phone numbers of the kids' mother, step-father and myself. The delay pushed us so close to the flight time that we had to literally run through the airport like in one of those movies. Luckily, there was no one waiting in line at security, so we breezed through quickly and made it to the gate in time. A quick hug, kiss and snap of a pic, and the kids were gone.
Now the house is eerily quiet, and it is time to take advantage and get work done. I think we'll have a good summer, as we plan a wedding, spend alone time together (for the first time in 2 years) and enjoy each other the way we did in April and May, at the beginning. I miss those days sometimes; this is a much needed vacation for all of us.
