I went to see an awesome band Saturday night. It was the Michael Cleary Band and they played at La Boca in Middletown. Two of the guys in the band (Mike and Ed) work with me, so it was really cool to see them play! The band is a mix of funk, rock, and blues -- and they were really good!
The one guy, Ed, invited me to come see them play. I was psyched to go, and I asked a few people I know if they wanted to go with me. But my BFF always sees her man on the weekends and they were going to be at his place which is like an hour away from La Boca, so they couldn't go. And two other friends already had plans. So it was just me.
I couldn't decide what the HELL to wear but I finally chose a tasteful (slutty) outfit and got all dolled (slutted) up. I psyched myself up to go and drove to the bar. When I got to the parking lot, I almost punked out but I told myself that I have to go in if only for a few minutes and if the band sucks or if I feel uncomfortable, then I can leave. But I had a blast and stayed for 2 1/2 hours! And I'm really glad I went!
I'm slowly but surely getting back my courage to be alone! YAY ME! :)
