2007 is over.
in my ever-present effort to be just as cool as lauren, i am also doing this survey blindly, without looking at last year's (which was also my last lj entry):
1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
monogamy
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
i cannot remember my new year's resolutions and it would be cheating to look back at them.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
no, although an old friend from elementary school facebooked me and she has an adorable little baby.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
no and fingers crossed that it stays that way for another year.
5. What countries did you visit?
williamsburg is like a country i visit every week. but, sadly, nowhere outside the states.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
more money, less stress, better health.
7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
there were many memorable days, though i don't so much remember dates. i may have to go with day i lost my tooth and scott lost his job. and decorating tyra banks' dressing room/office.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
committing... and finally getting off my ass and getting a job.
9. What was your biggest failure?
i should have been more open about some things with some people.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
i had this ridiculously awful sinus infection in april that i thought was going to kill me. and also my eyesight is rapidly failing and my heart palpitations are becoming more frequent.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
my "lucky girl" hibiscus print vans and my grey wool hat
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
scott's for his unending tolerance of my ups and downs
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
kimb's, no offense dear
14. Where did most of your money go?
property taxes (2008's date of significance will be feb 14th, for paying them)
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
lollapalooza, and dinner at harold's
16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
rehab
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? same... i think... it usually evens out
iii. richer or poorer? same...actually, strangely and sadly
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
financial planning

sleeping? stressing?
20. How did you spend Christmas?
at home with scott being hungover... and snuggling... and we took a walk... and ate pastries (which i went to fetch at 8am)... and watched Rudolph on dvd
21. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?
nicole i think, she's always got work drama
22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
i definitely fell in love, if i wasn't already
23. How many one-night stands?
technically, none
24. What was your favorite TV program?
favorite new finds- csi:miami, holmes on homes, the office, ugly betty; also antm, top chef, pro ro, lost, always sunny
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
bret michaels... hung and marcel... and bianca on antm
26. What was the best book you read?
erica jong's seducing the demon
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
the size of regina specktor's breasts
28. What did you want and get?
my vans, my grey hat, and an orange (grown-up) bedroom
29. What did you want and not get?
health insurance
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
i don't think i saw anything new besides harry potter.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
i saw the arctic monkeys in philly and we got in for front row before the show and got to watch the monkeys act like frat guys afterwards. and then we went to denny's. my 24th birthday was thus equivalent to my 4th when went backstage at the circus...
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
have less financial worries
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?

what: coffee, tea, muffins, crosswords, lists, gmail chat, television
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
well there are some people (chris wolstenholme) who i will always love, and harold dieterle (for repeatedly stalking me on the f train) who i will always remember, 2007 didn't really add any new ones to ka's cupboard of love. except dan rapa.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
i do occasionally read about political issues. remembering them is another story.
37. Who did you miss?
lauren, because we communicate better in person; kim because she spent the year in tokyo land; all the friends in the same city i never see; and the family that will never inhabit the house i'm re-doing again.
