FINALLY.
I got two jobs today. The pay is nothing, but there are opportunities to make more money and commision. Im excited yet nervous. Its always scary but hey its money. At least Ill be bringing money in. Thats all I care about. And it might be a nice break from being a manager. Im tired of people constantly complaining to me about everything. At least this way I wont be held as accountable for things that go wrong. Plus they say its easier to get a job when you have a job so maybe a really good full time position will turn up. I set up an interview for Wednesday but I might cancel it. I doubt they will hire me anyway.
I dont get why there arent better laws put into place regarding business practices and the way employees are paid and treated. One of my previous jobs said they wouldnt rehire me. Which I really can not understand at all. I worked 45 hours a week and never got paid overtime, I got screwed out of my "salary", I got no paid holidays, had to deal with a backstabbing bitch manager, would come in when people were sick or stay late, busted my ass for these people basically and it got me nothing. I looked up the laws about references and the law only protects the EMPLOYER!!!!!! WTF??? Basically the law protects employers from being sued if they give you a bad or negative reference. There are no federal laws about what employers can say to each other. So basically there are no laws. I dont see how this is fair. There are all types of laws protecting businesses but no laws protecting employees.
Its just sad. I want so badly to change these things, but how? Im sure theres other people out there that want the same thing and are tired of being treated like dirt. Why is this such a problem in this country? I cant figure it out.
