Saturday - 11/17/2012 - Holiday Number 11 Social
Please join Marvin Johnson and Carla Moore for the November NWSFS Social, beginning at 3 P.M. and ending at 8 P.M. (or maybe 10 P.M, if you're still having fun). 3513 S 296th Place, Auburn; phone: 253.389.4355.
This will be the Holiday Number 11 Social, a long-lost NWSFS tradition based on the holiday mentioned in the 1977 science fiction TV show Quark. Despite exhaustive internet searches, it seems that much of the future lore of Holiday Number 11 has been lost, so we are basically making it up as we go along.
There will be an optional cut-throat gift exchange. If you wish to participate in the exchange your gift should not cost more than $11 and should be wrapped in newspaper (or otherwise disguised to keep the masses guessing).
In addition, appropriate holiday dress is encouraged. Attire (hats, belts, ties, 3-piece suits, etc) made of newspaper and duct/duck tape will show off your Holiday Number 11 spirit. Prizes will be awarded for creativity and fun factor.
As usual, this is a potluck, so bring your contribution of a main dish (occasionally have enough), side dish (rarely have enough), munchies (usually have enough), or dessert (often have enough, but then really, who could object to too much dessert). Bring your own beverages if you want something particular, although a few basic beverages will be available.
NWSFS members are encouraged to attend, and non-members in the SF/Fannish community are welcome, as always.

Take exit 147.
Turn left off the exit onto 272nd St.
At the 2nd light turn right onto Military Road.
Turn left at the 2nd light onto S 288th St.
Turn right at the 1st light onto 34th Ave.
Go approximately 1/2 mile and turn left onto S 296th Place.
