life and death - the ongoing cycle/saga
The last week has been kind of tense because my grandma went on hospice on Sunday and she finally passed away yesterday morning. I guess I say "finally" because I was on edge every time the phone rang and especially if it was my mom because I was just waiting for her to tell me that grandma had died. I wasn't really close to grandma - in fact didn't even really know her. The reason I was tense though is that my mom was a mess (understandably) and I wasn't looking forward to having her fall apart. She ended up flying down there to San Diego on Wednesday and she was there when grandma passed, so thats' good. I think she was glad to be there and know she was peaceful.
In other life/death news - the aphids have returned and they must die. I was trying to just manage them with the neem oil spray stuff, but clearly it is not sufficient. I will have to buy some ladybugs again today and put them out tonight because the poor plant is being taken over. It always happens just as it is about to bloom of course because aphids like new growth. Who invented aphids anyway? If I believed in that dichotomy of god/devil I would say that they are a creation of Satan!
