2. Littlefinger loved Cat but Lysa loved him. He slept with Lysa, fooled into thinking it was Cat, in a nighttime liason, probably including alcohol. Later on, he slept with Lysa out of spite.
'Tansy' is the name of an aborticant that Hoster Tully forced Lysa to take to get rid of Littefinger's child so that she could still marry well. The loss of the baby, against her will, has left scars on her already feeble mind.
3. Varys is loyal to the Targaryens. Anything to weaken the powerbase in Westeros is 'keeping in character.' Methinks you think too little of the man who truly runs Westeros.

2) I don't think that Littlefinger was fooled. It suited him to say at court that he slept with Cat (also when Lysa goes bonkers in the Eyrie, Littlefinger doesn't sound remotely surprised, though he couldn't have known about the baby and yet his reaction was the same, so perhaps he didn't know)
On a different note, I was surprised by the end of A Feast for Crows as I thought that it would be either Daenyrys or Sansa Stark who would bring down Cersei, but it appears to have been Margaery Tyrell after all. I wonder if she'll survive long enough for Tyrion to get his ultimate revenge.
Excellent series, and I can see myself re-reading this again very soon. Nothing on the official page about A Dance with Dragons yet. :(
