Chomsky - again

Chomsky has published a further rebuttal to the Guardian interview of two weeks ago. Now that he has seen the paper copy, he is horrified that the photographs used to illustrate it included 1) a picture of himself with John Pilger, 2) a picture of himself with Fidel Castro, and 3) a picture showing him, according to the Guardian, "in Laos en route ( Read more... )

Whatever Chomsky may have said in rebuttal, it couldn't have been for The Guardian readers' benefit. To some American thinking, The Guardian is only slightly right of the Daily Worker, if they even bother with such differentiation.

I asked Google about "pilgerize" and it doesn't know! It's like we're not living in the future any more.

Amusingly, here's an alt.politics.socialism.trotsky thread where Chomsky is quoted as speaking approvingly of Pilger and saying, "In fact, there's even a word "Pilgerize," used by the commissar class as a term of abuse, in fact a banner to be held up with pride."
