While she's not in your sci-fi show of choice, Louise Fletcher later played Kai Winn in Deep Space 9, something I only found out many years after watching DS9.
You might not like Rocky, but very much like some of the early Oscar winners were the epitome of their type of film, it is possibly one of the greatest sports films, and a great underdog film. Also, a prime example of the way that when a role fits him, Sly Stallone knocks them out of the park.
