I have rather been wondering how long it will take before Indian English is the worldwide standard form. The increasing move to having books-including scholarly books-copy edited through Indian typesetting firms can only accelerate this.

I dunno; think of New Testament times when although everyone spoke Koine Greek, classical remained the standard; or indeed India itself where Hindi took a long time to emerge as official language in the shadow of Sanskrit and Urdu! We are in different times of course, but I reckon that by the time Hinglish becomes standard, English itself will have been supplanted by Chinese.
