Rather enjoyed Prisoner of Zenda rip off "State of Decay". Perhaps the superlative Peter Jeffrey had something to do with it.

All kids hated Adric. This is something that John Nathan Turner never fully appreciated. A boy who wears a badge for mathematically excellence day in and day out and talks about it incessantly is never going to win the hearts and minds of his contemporaries. Not Matthew Waterhouse's fault - just a basic problem of character conception.

"All" is an exaggeration. I liked Adric, as I liked Wesley Crusher years later.

I loved "State of Decay"; one of the examples of Doctor Who, even in its $4.50 per episode budget days, trying to THINK BIG. "What if you had a vampire who could consume worlds? What kind of a stake would you put through its heart?"

Plus it had the "Ah! Definitely Earth technology!" moment.

I have fond memories of "Lord Nimon! Loooord Niiiiii-mon! It is I, Soldeed!" and his sudden jaw-dropped "Oh Crap" face.

The only one of these that stuck in my nine-year-old memory is Full Circle. Great science fictional concept, and striking images (especially the marshmen emerging from the swamp).

And speaking of Lord Niiiimoooon, how many Nimons have you seen today?

I missed a lot of the Leisure Hive and Meglos due to an unwise dalliance with Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (Hiya Buck!). I get the impression I may not have missed too much.

For all that the last Tom Baker season was the official Return To Form, those stories seem to be solid rather than classics, while Horns of the Nimon I remember as an enjoyable romp.

The spider scene in "Full Circle" creeps me out very much so...

So "Shada" would've been released in 1980? Huh, I always thought it was 1979. *shrug* Ah, well. it's the episode I named my horse after, so... :D
