Other people's Hugo votes

It's much more difficult to find online discussion of the Hugo nominees now than it was ten years ago. That doesn't mean it's not happening - I'm sure it is. But I suspect that the gardens of the internet are regaining their walls, which is a bit sad. Even two years ago (admittedly two days before the voting deadline, rather than ten) I found a lotRead more... )

I see that you've listed my short fiction votes. For the record, this is my Best Novel vote:

1. Throne of the Crescent Moon (Saladin Ahmed)
2. 2312 (Kim Stanley Robinson)
3. Blackout (Mira Grant)
4. Captain Vorpatril's Alliance (Lois McMaster Bujold)
5. Redshirts: A Novel with Three Codas (John Scalzi)

Looking at the reviews at places like Amazon and Goodreads, I'm inclined to doubt that 2312 will win. If I had to guess, I'd say Bujold will prevail.

I haven't finished 2312 yet, so I haven't ranked it, but my novel rankings so far are
1) Redshirts
2) Blackout
3) Captain Vorpatril's Alliance
4) Throne of the Crescent Moon

So there you can have at least one ranking with Redshirts first. I don't think it will be displaced by 2312 based on my reading so far, though admittedly I'm not far into it yet.
