In memoriam Pete McCarthy
I see that Pete McCarthy has died. I got a kick out of reading his book The Road to McCarthy the summer before last, mainly because he tracked down the claimants to the title of McCarthy Mór, people I went to school with but haven't seen since I moved away from Belfast almost eight years ago. I thought he caught their personalities accurately and sympathetically. Well, may he rest in peace now.
