One of the sff books set in Ireland that has been on my list for many years and which I got off Bookmooch back in the days when Bookmooch actually worked. Tangential, but this reminds me of the time I was chatting to a Belfast cabbie whose dad was up in the RUC. He recounted a tale of how his dad was working with Americans re the Troubles in the 70s - the Americans couldn't understand why the RUC didn't just "Blow the hell out of the place". His reply: "We live here too!". A bit of a Vietnam influence I guess!

On a tangent to your tangent... One of David Feintuch's near-future SF books has the IRA nuking Belfast. Your line "We live here too!" comes to mind...
