Volume 2 of this series has been nominated for the Hugo this year, but I though I should start at the beginning; I must say if Volume 2 is half as good as this it will probably be getting my vote. I must pick up volume two, as I quite enjoyed volume one.

My main reason for loving Mike Carey is that he wrote the Lucifer series, which was absolutely fantastic. Deep, mythical, and with amazing characters. One of the best long-series comics I've ever read - not quite up there with Sandman, but kept me absolutely addicted all the way through.

That means you've missed out on the Lucifer series, which takes the version of Lucifer from Sandman, in his LA piano bar, and runs with it. Brilliant stuff.
