BSFA Short Fiction

I was rather pleased to find that I had already read three of the novels on this year's BSFA Award shortlist, and it seems eminently possible to assess everything on the list; though I would appreciate guidance on Notes from Coode Street - any particularly good episodes to recommend? I doubt I will have time to listen to all of it

"The Things" will be something of a milestone if it gets the award as it is unashamed fanfic for a work that is still in copyright and from what I've heard the author and the publisher did not get permission.

That's not quite the story as told here, which I think is a definitive source.

I agree that it would be interesting if it wins - it is absolutely fanfic. Which I'm all for, by the way, but not for money or awards.

As far as Coode Street goes, any of the November-December episodes will probably be of interest to you because they have a lot of 'summing up the year' and awards talk. #32 has a really interesting discussion about Heinlein. But really they're all part of one long conversation, and listening to one of the really early ones around May-June and one of the later ones will give you some idea of what it's all about.
