I was very impressed with Paddy when he visited Queen's at the invitation of the Alliance Party in the mid-90s. Honest, straightforward, and not at all dismissive of the Republicans who came to heckle - he actually engaged with them well, rather stealing their thunder. John Alderdice was also there, and was impressive too, but Paddy was head-and-shoulders above him, and anyone else I've seen speaking.
