Classic book of essays by Clarke, originally written in 1962 mostly for Playboy, and updated by him in 1999 - so the first edition was written when he was a little older than I am now, and the revision when he was 82; will I be reviewing old blog posts for republication in 2049? What a coincidence. I just saw this post at the top of my friendsfriends page (I don't know you but we apparently have about ten friends in common), and was startled by it because I just finished reading the same book yesterday!

I've never read the 1999 revision, but I have a copy from a 1980s printing and I find it absolutely fascinating. I must seek out the newer version.
