Both burkesworks and torquemadman ask for my top five flags. It's a tough choice, but in the end I winnowed them down (though will comment about nearly-made-its as well).

The Macedonian flag indicates their admiration for the Imperial Japanese Army, perhaps?

Aww, I've just googled Kiribati's flag - it's lovely! Now I'm going to look up where in the world Kiribati actually is, hehe.

Always loved Nepal's flag. Nicely edgy in the world of neat rectangles.
