A bleak, gripping post-holocaust narrative, focussed very very tightly on the journey of a man and his son across the blasted and horrific landscape. I couldn't put this down. What did you think of the POV switch at the end? I'm not convinced the events of the last few pages happen anywhere other than in the dying father's imagination.

It was one of my favourite books last year. And, as you say, not a book to help you sleep at night.
