The Karpass Peninsula

I'm just back from a few days of work in Cyprus, but decided to take yesterday exploring the Karpass peninsula, the long thin panhandle of the northeast of the island. The place looks intriguing on the map and even better on the ground.

10 years ago I thought I could get there only to find out that it was on the other side of the green line.

But that has to include a compulsory 12 a.m. - 4 p.m. Because remembering the heat of Nicosia at noon in July... That was quite an oven!

These days it's much easier to cross the line and get around in the North. And, most important, to rent a car with air-conditioning!
