Sounds like an interesting book. However Louis Allen's essay seems absurd - sounding like the fanboy alternate histories where increasingly unlikely events occur month after month to produce the require effect. I'd need to read it to confirm it though.

Does Allen say where Tojo gets his uranium from?

Yeah, the newly conquered parts of Siberia! It's certainly the least scholarly of the essays, which is probably why it is the most fun.
