Did they have the scene with the Dauphin's horse? Most productions cut that out, which annoys me because it's my favourite scene, mostly because it's one of the scenes where you get a sense that the French are people.
The things that interests me, in text, is the death of York and that if he hadn't died, how different history would have been.
I think it is rescueable, in the Branagh one at least, there's a fine vein of cynicism and satire during large chunks of it (the Bishops at the start, the tennis balls scene, the Chorus before the unmasking of Scroop, Masham and the other one, the Dauphin's horse and the ending.) but I shall admit to having been brainwashed by my Mother on the topic of Henry V, the play.
