Perry mumbled something about his knuckles at dinner tonight.

Perry said that he had a crack in the skin over his knuckles.
AC, laughing, "I thought he said fissure!"
Dh nodded.
Perry looked sheepish.
Me: "Did you say fissure?"
Perry, defensively, "What, that's what it is!"
That boy cracks me up. His vocabulary can be so precise at times. And he uses these words with no self-consciousness, completely appropriately, and without added emphasis. He isn't showing off or anything, he just uses the most precise word he knows.
So yeah, he has fissures on his knuckles.
