He was totally botching it. Also, the relationship to control Clark (and Bruce's feelings for him) wasn't supposed to happen! It was supposed to be love, darn it! But I think this sounded more like Bruce in the long run.

It does sound a lot like Bruce, this control thing that he started out with.

But I forgive him, because he felt so badly and really loves Clark. :)

Bruce was definitely working off of faulty assumptions and a two-dimensional view of Clark. He first saw him as the potentially conquering 'other' and then as a sort of idealized figure and by not seeing a person he was completely blindsided by the reality of Clark's feelings and fears.

He'll make more mistakes, just as Clark will, but I think Bruce is smart enough to learn from this.

I kind of have to continue now, I think. Everyone's personality traits aren't going to go away because they've said I love yous.

Yes, it'll be a lot of fun to see how they work things out. :)

Plus, the fluffy tomato fic I owe you is going to be in this universe. It should be up this week if all goes well.
