What's new with me?
Not much really I guess.
Just figured I'd write a few things though. I'm feeling rather good in my life at the moment. Feels like I have some sort of control over myself again. No real worries on my mind and I'm loving that.
Thanks to my tax return I've got some spare cash on hand and I've put it to good use so far.
Bought myself a 32" Sony Bravia 720p flatscreen TV to replace my old thing I got way back in like...high school.
I also bought Super Street Fighter 4. I do suck at fighters though. It might be due to using a pad instead of a stick but I dunno if I should invest in one of those though. I wanna learn Ibuki though.
Fighters are strange games though. You have the inexperienced players who don't know much and just go crazy with attacks with no real plan. Then you have those who know the special moves but pretty much spam them and have no real technique.
Despite having no technique they can still beat you so it's like "You suck...but you won...huh?"
I dunno. I'm bitter about fighters at times.
But most of my time is still on Left 4 Dead and such. Modern Warfare is okay for a distraction from time to time but it is still very unbalanced on the multiplayer front.
I mean the weapons aren't balanced at all with all the perks and attachments you can put on them and everything. There is just way too much to consider to properly balance it all. Not to mention the spawning system is broken. I also hate all those killstreaks. I'm not good enough to get 5 kills in a row, much less 11, so I won't really get to enjoy all those cool things like calling in the AC130 or anything like that.
Not to mention the whole calling in a Nuke is stupid as hell. I mean, yeah it's kinda cool to end the match like that but it's kinda unfair in some situations. Like if you're playing a team based game of Capture the Flag one guy can just get 25 in a row, call in the Nuke and his team wins no matter how few flags they got. WTF?
Then again the focus of the multiplayer is pretty much on individual skill instead of skill as a team. Despite all the team based objective typed matches it's all about which ones can get more kills and stuff.
I'm more of a team based gamer. The big reason I like Left 4 Dead so much. It's because your teammates actually matter in those games. I like working together against the computer instead of against other people.
Frisbee has been going great. Had an excellent game today. Last year my right knee was giving big troubles. If I ran on it for a long time it would get this huge pain that would last for days. I saw a doctor and they couldn't find anything wrong. Luckily it was closing in on winter and I just rested it until now. So far no troubles like that. Yay!
I do miss my friends in Pittsfield when I play with them. Part of me wishes I could move back there and hang out with them. It seems like they do fun shit all the time (well not literally, they still have jobs and stuff) but I wanna hang with these guys more than just a weekly game of disc.
I am an adult (lulz yea right) so I do have the power to look into such a thing.
However, it's just an idea in my head right now so I dunno if I really wanna pursue that or not.
It's late and I have work in the morning...joy...
