in the year 2011....
In the year 2011 we witnessed the end of a popular movie franchise (of which I still haven't read or seen), an amazing feminist leader pass away, and we saw Taylor Swift take home too many undeserved awards. We witnessed the start and end of a feud between athletes and their owners, saw the underdogs turn into Superbowl champions, and we prayed while watching a tsunami rip through a country. We laughed at Kevin Harts pain, we rolled our eyes as the misogynistic television series, we had hoped was dead, remained on the air (despite no longer #winning), and we cried at the struggle a cancer patient can go through.
A lot of things happened in 2011. Good and bad, funny and sad. And we've been with each other through it all.
Whether you're a new friend or we've known each other a long time, your thoughts, your videos, your fanmixes, and your fiction have filled me with joy or warmed my heart. And I thank you for that.
Here's to another year of friendship, fandom, and fun!

This story is the perfect mixture of horror (it will literally give you goosebumps), perfectly timed wit, sexy times and mystery. dampersnspoons has a way with words and character voices that will pull you into a story and not let you go, as if you would even want to.

The destiny she never thought she'd have is set in motion the minute she starts having dreams of being someone else. But how can she figure out what it means when she forgets as soon as she wakes up?
The way these characters back stories have been written is intriguing and wonderful. Her character voices are spot on and for anyone who loves a wonderfully written Anya, you're in for a treat!

This story is wonderfully smutty, but also portrays a very in depth look at the comforts and insights the characters have between each other.

She'd kicked his butt, taken the Gem and sent it off to Angel. Buffy thought she'd seen the last of Spike. Clearly, she'd been too optimistic. That he was in her house, in her room, waking her out of a sound sleep and asking for (okay, demanding) her help meant that something had to be majorly wrong. They weren't due for another apocalypse, but...why else would a vampire make a truce with the Slayer?
This story is very original. It also sets up a situation in which Buffy recognizes and deals with her depression at an earlier time. A fascinating read.

Spike's been tossed around by the Slayer too many times to count, but this time she's gone too far. Her ritual of self-congratulatory humiliation has made him a laughing stock, and it't the final straw. They've never been friends, but she's forgotten that they are enemies.
No more of it.
But then the Slayer is shot, and the culprit is a freckle-faced eleven year old boy with a vendetta and wide, wet eyes. He's an unlikely villian and the Scoobies can't face interrogating him so Spike is tempted in to play Bad Cop while the Slayer lies unconscious in a hostipal bed.

I literally started reading this today. And I'm so glad I did, the plot looks as though it's going to be a doozy and I really want to know where this story is headed.

Buffy's got a life now. She's taken up normal, nice and cosy, no weird, no wild, no fires burning, just a staking here and there. No big. Not like she craves it, or something. Or someone. Then it all hits the fan with a dark threat to the line of the Slayer, her line. With hell comes fire, a flash of heat that beats in her pulse, makes her feel alive, vital, useful, and an old flame is just the one to bring it: he and no other.
I'll admit, at first Buffy seemed a tad OOC for me. But the reason becomes clear quickly and the plot is absolutely wonderful. I also haven't seen a villain quite as wonderfully written as this since Lostboy's Clocks of the Long Now. The original characters are also well written and some are quite delightful.

I will admit that I often prioritize the fics I read by the number of reviews a certain story has. AND THIS STORY IS EXTREMELY UNDER-REVIEWED. I'm so glad I started reading it. The Spike/Buffy dynamic is written so so well. And the Scoobie's are absolutely in character and perfect. You also get what I think is an extremely accurate glimpse inside Willows head, and the struggles she goes through in S6.

Anyways this story grabbed my attention because of the Dawn & Spike friendship aspect, which I've mentioned above is one of my favorite things to read in Spuffy fic. And this story is no exception.
