Little bit of a vital update I suppose.
Just wanted to let you all know I may have found a job finally. Although I make no guarantee's, yet, I came this close with Paws last time, and that one didn't pan out.
The clinic (yes, a clinic, I didn't have to find a different job afterall) is called Northgate. It's not a bad little place truthfully. Small place, small team. About 4-5 technicians, and One Vet. Though they do have a CVT that I used to know at the VEC surprisingly enough, so IMO if it's good enough for a former emergency tech, it's good enough for me.
Thing is, I'm not going to be a tech just yet. They want to start me out as a receptionist. The goal in the long run is to cross train me so I can be a receptionist, technician, and kennel aide, which is what they want to start doing to the whole staff, I guess, starting with me, so again, not so bad. Also, they only want to start me out at $10/hr x.x; But after my 90 day probation, depending on my performance, that will go up (to what, $12/hr? *sigh* I dunno, what else am I gonna do, I need to start somewhere).
This opportunity couldn't have come at a better time, really, and I say this both seriously, and sarcastically. Seriously, because well, if you read my last post, this to me was like part of my prayer being answered. Sarcastically, because well, after that bout of extreme depression last weekend, I caught the cold that Cameron and mom both had, so I had to deal with both of these interviews all sniffely and sneezey, and tired as hell.
They basically said that at this point, the decision is up to me. On the other hand, at the end of the working interview on friday, the vet did say that he'll call me sometime this week... just like Paws did but never called, so I feel I'm pretty much in the same boat as I was with them. Though I don't intend to leave it up to them this time like I did with Paws. This time I'm writing out a thank-you letter to them, and I think I'll give them a call this week also.
Two semi-random facts:
1. The vet has a red fox kit that he brings to work with him <3 it's soooo cute, only 8 weeks old! He chases his tail all day in his kennel when no one's playing with him ^^;
2. Strawberry Orange Green Tea <3 Plain green tea to me tastes like grass water, which sucks, because it's supposedly so healthy for you. Well I found strawberry orange flavor at the grocery store, tried that, and loved it. They also had blueberry actually, but the strawberry orange was better imo.
3. I felt you guys needed a third semi-random fact: The truth is, that mood I had in my last post hasn't entirely left yet. Like I said, I just don't see it going away all too easily or quickly. These problems need to be solved in order for this to happen. One's been solved, so I'm feeling a little better, I'm *generally* over the whole gpa issue, it was so prevalent last weekend because that's when Erica's graduation was. I felt the same way in NY too at Craig's graduation, at these points it just feels like the whole fact that I did so terrible was just being rubbed in my face, so that's over-- I'm feeling a little better. However, there are still issues that weigh heavily on my heart... I have a bad feeling some of them aren't going to get any better either =\ (note: I will only talk about these things in the privacy of a one-on-one conversation, so details will be given out only on request).
So, there you have it, I suppose.
