Organization?

Yes! I have filled a giant trash bag (the biggest ones they have) with clothes to donate and more importantly, get OUTTA MY HOUSE! I also have 2 trader joe's bags filled to the bring with clothes that are going, and tomorrow my daughter should have filled a big trash bag with old toys that she and her brother don't play with anymore. This weekend is going to be about cleaning house (literally and figuratively) and refreshing. I'm going to spend a good amount of this weekend at the beach, going on our Beenznrice Art Tour stop at the Getty Villa (pictured), cleaning and getting the house smelling fresh, yoga, working out, and getting plenty of sleep. Oh and getting in some paint time will be key as well.

I'll be posting my progress all weekend. I should start off with some before shots, which are not nearly as bad as the first photos I took when I started this blog. So improvement, albeit slow improvement, has been made over the many months.

Oh yeah, I have to blog about 2 great cleaning shows I have been ADDICTED to!!

Clean House with Niecy Nash. There are some great tips on how to really overhaul a dirty home. Plus she is a very lively host! The design on this show is great and always gives me wonderful ideas. Now time to put them to work.

The next show is a BBC treat called How Clean is Your House. This is some SERIOUS cleaning. I have never even thought possible the filth that people can actually live in until I watched this show. My gag reflex has gone off EVERY episode. It made me realize that I am NOT that bad. They also have some great, simple and eco friendly cleaning recipes and tips. A very interesting cleaning tip that I want to try (not that our toilet is nearly as filthy to really warrant it but...) is cleaning my toilet bowl with cola. That's right COLA!!! And almost all of the homes that I've watched so far, has had samples come back from the labs showing that there is ecoli from feces in very random places in the home. EW. Not to mention the personalities on this show! These ladies mix glam with grime!

Here's the blurb on the website: Kim Woodburn and Aggie MacKenzie, our unstoppable hygiene experts, take themselves to the U.S. where viewers get to see inside some of the dirtiest homes imaginable and meet the occupants. Can they stop the rot? How Clean is Your House? U.S. is the American follow-up to the UK's hugely successful home makeover show with a difference - fighting filth and dishing the dirt on grime.

OK have fun cleaning and getting organized! I should really go to bed right now. We'll see. I just realized it's officially Friday! YAY!
