I realized today that I know how to play bass...I don't know how to play music. Any monkey can learn bass, but can you put your emotion into it? I have been going about it all wrong. You do not just read tabs and play other songs and expect to be good, you are not good until you are a part of what you are playing, and its orginal and creative; you are not good till your instrument is an extension of your body... Can you channel your feelings through you finger tips and through your instrument? That's what music is all about, and I think that all these new bands are forgetting that and are just jumping around and screaming because we expect them to.
