manchester

so I was driving around tonight, as I have been doing every night since sunday because no one is around, and I drove down autumn street and I remembered this girl that I used to hang out with for like..a month in middle school. I'm not positive if she even made it to high school. What the fuck happened to her? This town swallows people up and gives them a life sentence of white trash problems like teenage motherhood and drug dealer boyfriends. Jessica Bower, dumb as hell, but one of the prettiest girls I knew in middle school, I think she got knocked up by some guy who is now in jail before high school. She's 18 and she has a kid, a 3 or 4 year old kid. Some of the smartest kids in town, the most promising, the student activities kids like lina and jeff, still in town, going to mcc or working. They're doing ok, but why would you want to stay here? They should put a warning on those "welcome to manchester" signs. "Get out before its too late."

There's nothing here. There's a worse class divide here than in boston. Evergreen Walk is like white upper class suburbia central. It makes me want to vomit. The only black person I saw there works in the kitchen at Johnny Rocket's. At least on Newbury St. you get a mix of people. I like how at Evergreen Walk Old Navy is cast far away like the poor step child of banana republic and J. Crew. I'm just, bored with it. This whole suburban bullshit deal. I want to go back to boston.

I'm going to enjoy the rest of my My So-Called Life marathon.
