Eragon, a review

Jan 02, 2007 23:14

Casino Royale was sold out when we got to the counter, so we say Eragon instead.

we should have gone and played the pokies, at least that way we could say we wasted our
money and been occupied.

no really.

Ok, so the CG dragon was very sexy, the scenery was pretty, and the swords not too stupid looking.

But, as can be found on the authors site he started it when he was 15.

and it reeeeeealy felt like it. Depth and development is what adults have. Plot was there, but very generic fantasy . . . "oh, you're the chosen one"

Jeremy Irons was gritty and wizened, John Malcovich was, well, being John Malcovich (with a dragon out the back)

ok, so, no -plot- spoilers (as if there really could be), but here are some points i observed:

-one fight with sticks with the old guy by a riverside does not the mighty warrior make .
-when both the old guy and your dragon tell you that if it dies, you feel terrible, but if YOU die so does the dragon, PUT ON SOME ARMOUR
-if you are going to get into major battles where even your DRAGON wears a helmet, WEAR A FUCKING HELMET
