So I have this book, Better Homes and Gardens New Baking Book, the 1998 edition. I received it as a Birthday present from someone who used to be my friend but doesn't talk to me anymore. Regardless of the words written on the inside cover and their stinging memory for me, I treasure the book, and since this past Christmas I received a Kitchen Aide Mixer, I marked a number of recipes with post-it flags to complete this year.

My Mami's Birthday was this past Thursday, but we had a special dinner for her on Saturday, and she requested I bake her a peach cobbler.

The cinnamon-swirl biscuits I made first, and it is essentially pastry dough with chopped walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon and melted butter spread over it.

and then rolled up and cut into little wheels.

Then I heated up about 5 cans of peaches, more brown sugar, cornstarch, and shredded lemon peel on the stove until it boiled low

poured it into a greased glass pan and set the biscuits in

then baked it at 375 degrees for 25 minutes until the biscuits were browned around the edges.

Then after dinner we served it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
