So July was a rough month and August not much better. I threw up my hands and walked away from Chet again after he said if I wanted to get married for the sake of getting married I should just marry an illegal immigrant. It is a scary thought. But so true... I can always go home again. That's why I think I'll give myself a year in a new place and take it from there. I have some time to think about it, I figure with the two weddings I'm in (and one I'm attending) in this area this fall it'd be a little impractical/extra costly to move now, as I'd need to fly back for three weddings, two showers and Thanksgiving. So I can research and apply for jobs and visit places and get a feel for where I want to go.

Right now my top two choices are Denver and San Diego followed by Charleston, San Francisco and New Orleans (all three are cities I've always wanted to live in for whatever reason). I've ruled out N.O. for the obvious, SF because it's even more expensive than DC and I'm on the fence with Charleston. Charleston's main advantage is being driving distance from home. Sure it's a long drive but if for whatever reason (like something happening to my grandma) I needed to come home on short notice it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to do so. Denver - I have two friends living there so it'd be a baby step, not entirely as scary as moving out on my own. And San Diego has the climate, plus I have a friend who grew up there and has some useful connections.

So much to consider!!
