I should really be revising now, or at the very least catching up with work. But I'm not, and I can't honestly see me suddenly getting the urge to. I really just don't have the motivation, and I don't know what to do because I need to find some and soon. I know I'll regret it later, and even though there's this long list of reasons as to why I ( Read more... )

I know exactly how you feel. I have so much to do but I just have no motivation to do anything. I've noticed a lot of people work so hard in their AS year, and then in A2 they're, as you say, deflated. Good luck! =]

That's something I've noticed too! Especially in myself. It's almost like the first year it's all new and shiny, whereas by the second year we're all a bit jaded and terrified by the impending thought of UNIVERSITIES OMG SCARY.

Argh. I went through that earlier this year. Just lost the motivation to do anything at all. Now it's the exam period and I'm seriously regretting all that time wasted. I can't tell you how to get out of the funk, but I hope you can find the motivation that you need. Positive vibes! =)

I think those positive vibes might have just done the trick! I'm finally starting to feel like I want to do work (THANK GOD) :D

Oh god yeah. Revision and motivation repel each other.

I remember when I was studying for my A2 year (3 years ago) and I couldn't understand why I was so demotivated! It was like...why didn't I realise just how important it all was?! It was weird.

I think it does click though...and it will be horribly last minute but it happens.

Try and change of scene...it always helps. I tend to switch between my house/my flat at uni/library etc as it keeps my concentration levels up for some reason. Oh...and coffee. I hate coffee but I've forced myself to drink it during revision at the moment as it really works for quick fixes to get you started.

Good luck with everything =)

Coffee is my worst enemy, I swear. I wish I could drink it without gagging, haha. But I like your tip about a change of scenery, and I've found that really does work when it's term time. Like I'll find I often do way more work in the computer rooms at College than I actually do at home. Which is why I'm probably the only 18 year old in the country that wants school to start again ASAP :p

Seriously? That's such a shame :/ Although it might all kick in when most of her friends are at Uni having fun and she's stuck at home in a job. Unless that works for her, which I can understand but could never do. Me = jobs = disaster. Which makes the fact I have an interview coming up even more scary haha!

Hopefully she'll realise in time to apply for next year? The thought of staying her working makes me want to cry. Although I feel like I need to get out of education for a while, that would mean I'd have to stay here and frankly this is not an option, haha. And thank you! I really hope I get it :/ *Hugs*
