There are bits I loved, and bits I didn't. I'm still a bit fuzzy.
The part where Donna and the Doctor met again for the first time in ages was absolutely brilliant. It's delivery was flawless, I was literally sat there in fits of giggles. Anybody who dare continue their Donna/Catherine hate now are simply fools.
She was so good this episode! They toned her down loads, and it improved her character ten folds. Her scene with her Granddad was so sweet, and it was a really lovely opening.
I really liked Donna's mating comment, and the Doctors face. It was so funny.
Oddly enough, I think Donna outshone the Doctor in this episode. I felt like Tennant hardly had any time to shine, at least not compared to Catherine. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, and I think it was mainly down to Donna dominating the majority of the first third. I just would of liked a bit more Doctor being the awesome alien that he is. It was almost like he was Donna's sidekick, not the other way round.
I'm so glad there was reference to Martha, and in a truthful retrospective regretful way, not a omgz she totes fancied me, it woz well annoyin mayte. Martha was so amazing, and I'm glad that was finally acknowledged. Along with the Doctor's regretful tone, I think their reunion later on in the series is going to be brilliant.
I have to be honest - Rose, fuck off. Why is she back? And if she must return, why must we have to deal with her whiny emo face this early on? Don't get me wrong, I do love Rose, or at least S1 Rose. S2 Rose completely ruined the character for me, and if S4 is anything like S2 Rose then it's going to be the last nail in the coffin. I'm hoping she comes back, kicks ass, then leaves for good. That would be the perfect goodbye for a fundamentally amazing character. I hope RTD doesn't fuck this up.
It's like 145 degrees in my room. I swear I'm melting.
doctor who,
