CASINO ROYALE is dope. A solid action picture which, in deconstructing its hero to a cold shell, conversely makes an emotional connection that this series has been missing.
I never considered myself a big fan of the Bond films. But thinking about it today, I remember watching a lot of these movies on VHS with my brother and his friends--OCTOPUSSY, LIVE AND LET DIE, MOONRAKER, THUNDERBALL. Roger Moore was the first James Bond I really knew. Bond films didn't get me excited about moviemaking, the way the Indiana Jones films did, but I guess they played a big role in my childhood afterall.
