Surprisingly...

...the week without a weekend is going quite well. You see, I will be spending 12 hours working this weekend, and probably about 6 babysitting. That is not fun in the slightest.

So of course I presumed that the week leading up to this terrible twosome of days usually reserved for fun and relaxation would be terrible as well. And actually, it has been a very very good week. And because I am not tired and have not rambled here for a few days, I will tell you all why.

I put up my star in guidance on Monday morning! It was a big moment. I have been accepted to the University of Michigan, and while it is not my first choice, it's a good school and I am excited about it.

I got a ridiculous amount of sleep to prepare me for Tuesday, which was wonderful because it was another day of school sans learning. I enjoy that senior teachers are almost as done as the seniors themselves following midterms. Senioritis is now officially an excuse. Wonderful.

Tuesday night I had my Yale interview and I didn't act like a [complete] moron.

Today was fabulous because I made it through the hellish part of the day (which involves spanish, calc, and physics). After lunch I had two free blocks in a row because the english department took a day off or something. So in journalism, Kelsey and Jean and I went to Starbucks!!

And tonight, after watching the first new Gilmore Girls of the year with Deb (I am very excited the tradition is finally back), we made a very exciting online purchase. It will take a total of six planes, more than 14 hours of travel time (in airports or in the air), and $100 out of my pocket (my daddy was very generous though, happy birthday to me), but I will be spending five days of my February break in Key West with my neighbors, aka my second family. So. Wonderful wonderful wonderful.

Oh, also. I have a crush. On Jim Halpert. (And someone else too, but I have a better chance with Jim...and Jim is ficticious.)

What is the opposite of adding insult to injury?

To add...a college acceptance to a snowday (mmm...yeah no...it's late), high school is very much almost over. We have gone to school in Melrose for more than 2000 days, and there are only 70 left (including tomorrow, which will not be spent at school, but rather at the Huntington with my English class trying to hear a play over an obnoxious student audience). Think of that. We have spent more days at school than there have been years since Christ was born (I don't care about Christ but it's a good reference point in this case). And now it's all drawing to a close. While I am upset that we just started new material (that I didn't learn last year) in calc, it useful because I can now say this: As we plan to intergrate the function denoting our Melrose Schools experience, we find that the antiderivative of the function will give us a negative exponent. Therefore!...as the function goes to infinity, it is finite. Guys, we're converging here! IT IS ALL COMING TO AN END! And a beginning :-) -- but I can't explain that with calculus.

So, wow. Backing away now. Let's just never speak of that little outburst again, okay? Okay good.

I'm trying to find good music to listen to. I'm searching for silly love songs. Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs.

I should really stop rambling now. Really. And go to sleep. After all, I don't want to fall asleep during The Cherry Orchard. That would be rude. And I wouldn't want to be the only rude person in the theater. Oh, wait.

Kind of feel like writing. Not typing endlessly on LJ, but actually writing. Mmm maybe I'll go sit in my favorite spot next to my favorite window, write, and listen to nostalgic music while I watch the snow fall down softly underneath the amber glow of the streetlights. I'd love to watch that winter snow. Oh, wait.

But anyhow I think I will go write.

Is somebody thinking of you?

Much love and love much!
Sara
