Last night Arden developed an elevated temp, and some insane screaming and a crazy snotty nose. She was gagging and choking, and yes, at one point she couldn't breathe and I ran upstairs to wake up mark. And then we stared at her at 3 am. Mark listened to her lungs and heart and said they sounded fine, but do newborn lungs sound the same?
Anyway, she would only sleep laying on my chest... and I was used to that with Eli but Arden is such a different kid that having these screaming fits of pain and the inability to get comfortable was really disturbing. Anyway, this afternoon her temp was up to 100.2 and so I called the doctor, who said we had to come in. She looked fine to the doctor (besides being snotty) and we left with instructions to keep an eye on her temp and if it went to 100.4 we'd be off to the hospital. So far she's obviously cooler to the touch and her temp is under 100.
she is now sleeping unaccompanied for the first time in about 24 hours.
Unrelated question about Elias:
We need to get the man evaluated by an occupational therapist, but I've got no idea what to do first besides call the pediatrician and ask for a referral (we discussed it at our last appointment, but I decided to wait, because I'm the chill out and wait type). I was finally convinced by our old family friend (who coordinates headstart programs for an entire area of PA) that we should address his hand strength/coordination problem sooner rather than later. If anyone wants to share a story about OT that'd be cool.
