This morning I spread peanut butter and jelly on countless slices of bread with four other people. We made 75 lunches in total. When we got to San Francisco I went with two other people down Haight Street and handed out lunches to quite a few amazing people. I met a man named Ian who told me his girlfriend had just been arrested all because he had got in a fist fight with another man. I met a proud black man named Bones who, according to him, was a Vietnam Vet., born in Russia, could speak seven languages, and went to the same college as Fidel Castro and three presidents. I met a man named William who was sad because he couldn't find his dog. And then I met a man who said we were a bunch of fuckers because no one in San Francisco really wants to help others and that all of mankind was selfish. Sadly, he's the only man I can't stop thinking about.
