COMIN' OFF HIATUS AS OF 4PM TOMORROW, so clearly it is "I Ramble About Things Time" and a request!
Alice
Sooooo, I have the problem that I haven't the faintest idea how to make any kind of relationships with Alice. To be fair, Alice is not exactly the most socialised person out there. Canon seems to be verifying a lot of my assumptions about how Alice interacts with the world, in particular that Alice's reality is made up of the real, concrete things that she can touch and taste - a bit like a little baby, to be honest, given that lately she's done things like tried to eat a bird in the little side actions while other people are having serious conversations. To be honest, I'm actually playing her a bit like a baby in the sense that she doesn't understand abstract concepts (and thus far canon has shown her understanding them at a rudimentary level at best), and that her world is what she can touch and taste and ... well that she's somewhat egomanical. I'm not really sure what to do with her, tbh. I like Pandora Hearts and I like the character ... but I'm not really sure how to make relationships with her. So I have to think about that.
Ideas for future: how does I make friends? Get some character relationships for her that aren't Oz or Gil.
Aurica
Surprisingly, I am having a lot of fun with Aurica! I'm finding it really interesting to play a character whose development was so dependent on her learning to trust someone ... only to come to camp and he's not here and nor is anyone else that she learned to trust! So she's having to learn to trust new people, and in part it's both hindered and helped by the fact that hardly anyone knows what a reyvateil is. I kind of handwaved the first installation of the life extending agent but I'm coming up to the next three month cycle and ... well by all accounts the process is hideously painful and I can't really see Aurica putting herself through that kind of pain on her own. Aurica's reaction to situations she can't handle is to give up! So I'm probably going to have her need another install at ... some point this upcoming fortnight and boy won't that be awkward for the poor person stuck in that position.
Ideas for future: install! Who wants to stick in a gigantic crystal into the back of someone's neck?
Colette
Iiiii need to do more threads in general. I love her derpthreads where she misinterprets what someone's saying (though sometimes I wonder if I stretch the gag a bit too far) and her oddly serious threads but I think I need more cast threads in general. I miss doing stuff like retelling Ratatosk's dumb backstory to the tune of Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer! Basically I miss doing the dumb skit things that makes Tales games what they are. Again, she misses Lloyd and the rest of the Symphonia cast not in camp, but it's a really kind of zen thing. She's okay with it! She knows she'll see them again at some point and she's going to have some seriously awesome stories to tell them and there are people here she gets to meet that she wouldn't back home and ... well, really, camp's not so bad. She has moments of panic when she wonders if time really is passing back home and she's going to come back and there's war between the Sylvaranti and Tethe'allans because she was in camp rather than Aselia, but Colette doesn't talk about them because this is Colette and not worrying people is how she rolls. Sometimes I think I'm overplaying the derp and not enough instinctively getting people, but. That happens.
Ideas for future: Hilariously dumb things in the spirit of Tales skits. I don't really have a lot of ideas for Colette, as she's such a reactive character in that regard.
Emil
Emil is, unsurprisingly, kind of wistfully unhappy. It's good that Alice is alive and that Richter is out of the Ginnungagap! It's ... less good that Alice does not remember that she's dead. And one of the problems, naturally, is that Alice is infinitely more confident in her worldview than Emil is, so Emil's starting to wonder what else he's wrong about! He misses Marta a lot, though Tenebrae and Richter being in camp helps a lot. It's kind of interesting, because Emil's starting to question the idea that Richter and Ratatosk have to stay in the Ginnungagap or whether there is another way to solve the problem. Ratatosk, obviously, does not agree with this, and it's really interesting to have such a ideological conflict between them. Ratatosk is using Emil to learn that humanity isn't quite the cesspool of hatred and scum that Ratatosk assumed it to be, but I also assume that Ratatosk's duty to be the seal to Niflheim is hardwired into him. It isn't with Emil, and so there's this ideological conflict between Emil being able to think about the problem laterally and Ratatosk being fundamentally incapable of the act. I have absolutely no idea how to play this out in camp outside of staging conversations between Emil and Ratatosk, or have Emil try and borrow out books on the subject and poking people on point. It should kickstart Emil in the game again, because Emil's whole life is about heading towards something and if he gets a chance to think, he dwells.
Ideas for future: Ratatosk discovers another power under duress and dumb things ensue. Somehow getting the whole CHANGING THEIR UNIVERSE thing out there.
Luke
Luke, frankly, wants to go home ... but with caveats. He wants to be able to go home, live, and drag Asch home by the hair too and force him to live too. But if Asch decides to go somewhere else afterwards, Luke will be happy too, if a little sad that the place he's living isn't Kimlasca. He kind of thinks, you know, he stole Asch's life, Asch should be allowed to do whatever he wants now. But as for Luke, he really wants to go home to Auldrant, to see his friends and to live. Most importantly, Luke does not want to die. I assume that he has this routine going where he checks to make sure he's not getting any worse, makes a point of seeing the Abyss cast regularly and writes daily journal entries so that when he does eventually disappear that there's some record that he existed. It's kind of ... he doesn't want to die, but he's accomplished everything he had to do, so now he's going to try to set up a kind of lasting legacy, where he tries to make life for replicas/clones in camp better. He thinks it'll be a good practice run to work out what to do about the replicas in Auldrant, and he keeps a notebook of ideas.
Ideas for future: ...fighting Emil and going whoa we have the same artes did Van teach you too?! Clone support group.
Rachel Elizabeth Dare
...i do not know.
Ideas for future: I don't have any. :(
Ronan Nolan Jr
Soooo I updated after the latest book confirmed a lot of assumptions I had about Ronan's personality and why he chooses to do certain things! Which is cool, and now he has a laser and I have some vague idea what his powers are etc etc. (COULD I PLEASE HAVE A SPECIALISATION?) Ronan's whole thing in camp is about waiting. He hates it. He hates that he can't change things, he hates that he can try and nothing will happen and then camp moved and it's not even to anywhere where he could hijack the spell and go home. So he spends his time making these magitek weapons of mass destruction and being vaguely annoyed and resentful.
Ideas for the future: I don't have any :(
Stephanie Brown
I have no idea what is going on with the Batcast. I think this is probably the most IC course of action for Steph.
Ideas for the future: set up an epic mass crossover involving the successor to the batcow's sidekick, milk man.
Vayne Aurelius
Soooooooo. Vayne is an emo kid who needs people to top him so that he doesn't destroy camp in a fit of emo. No, that is not an exaggeration in the slightest. He's hearing voices that tell him to use his powers, he's not sure what they mean and he's kind of lonely in camp. I think his only friends are Raidou and Pamela ... which is kind of hilarious and IC because Vayne does not actually make friends in the game; they just bowl him over and he goes along with it because sure, why not. I assume that Sulpher is keeping Vayne on as steady a keel as he really can, but I think part of keeping Vayne IC will be him accidentally granting wishes to people. I just need some volunteers.
Ideas for future: granting subconscious wishes! SOMEHOW I HAVE TO DO THIS.
Okaaay, so. Coming off a six week not-hiatus means that I haven't a clue what happened during that time. So! If anyone is willing to summarise stuff that my characters would know, as I assumed they were around doing Things, if not necessarily what Things they were (...who was memorywiped, for example?) then that would be fabulous.
