Dropped that 3D class. After I was up until 2AM finishing my character animation and still after getting up early to study for the quiz we were having today. D'oh! All of those things just sealed the deal in my mind. Was too much work for something I wasn't enjoying. So finito! Tuesdays and Thursdays are now open for business! Literally. I need to find a JOB. To celebrate the shackles of that class being lifted, I went to see Confetti - a movie I thought had already blown by our theatres. Saw trailers constantly months ago but then they vanished. Was surprised to see it among the other titles playing at my theatre. Yipee! It was a fun, little movie. Don't know if it was hormones, but I was tearing up a lot. Can't help it! Martin Freeman and Jessica WhatsHerFace were so adorable and sincere. And the guys playing the gay wedding planners were wonderful and got me all sniffly at the end. I was the only one who laughed when they were deciding on what Hollywood musical to do as a theme for a wedding, and one wanted Singin' In the Rain or On The Town. The other one hated On the Town because he thought Betty Garrett "that cab lady" was annoying. HA. Poor Betty, she's my favorite. The movie also had more Naked than I really wanted to see. I was always curious how guys fit on a bicycle seat....well, now I know. And it's not pretty. Neither is naked badminton for that matter.
Man, can't believe I haven't updated in so long. So many little things have been going on: The Office premiere (AWESOME), GG premiere (BOO), going home for mom's b'day (YAY), movie night with
armelisediva (ROCK ON).
So yeah, I won't spoil premieres for anyone, just that The Office has me laughing the whooooooole time, and I was even stuck watching it at home with my dad: the last person I thought would be fun to watch it with, especially the topics that they covered. But he was snorting so much I had to shush him! Went home to visit mom for her big 6-0. I went home early because of all the 3D homework I was fearing (D'oh again). But it was really nice. It had been months since I'd been home and probably even longer since I was one-on-one with my mom. After The Office I ran over to the school because she was there for Open House. She was just leaving and was so happy to see me. We quickly ran to Red's to feed me because it's the once place I truly crave when at home. Mmmm, spicy chicken salad. Once at home I told her about seeing Sufjan and began playing her his stuff again. Since she had time to sit and listen, she really got into it and we talked about it and music foreverrrrr. So nice. I felt bad for keeping her up past midnight when she had to work the next day and she mock-nagged me about it, but I know she enjoyed it to. Now I need to burn her all the tracks she liked.
Came back Saturday and Lauren stayed behind. Then Sarah came over after her shift to watch some movies. Since Lauren was away it was a good night to try out a scary movie. I was at the video store for aaaaaages while one of the employees lectured me in the horror section. I ended up renting Halloween because I hadn't seen it all, and then The Hills Have Eyes for something more recent. When Sarah came over we also rented Summer Storm because of the promise of cute gay boys at camp (not porn!). We decided to watch The Hills Have Eyes because of its punny-ness on the back cover. MISTAKE. It was hoooooorrible. We couldn't finish it, because One: Not Scary, Two: they killed the dog, Three: the characters were soooo stupid. Knew I should have rented Silent Hill instead. Oh well. At least Summer Storm was better, even though I don't believe *anyone* touches themself so much while flirting. It's so obvious and awkward!
Oh, don't know why, but I was reminded of the trailers I saw today. Loved the use of Sufjan in the trailer for Driving Lessons. Weee, Rupert Everett! Btw, has anyone seen the new pictures from the OotP movie? I don't like Harry's short hair (how can it be messy??), but I looooove Imelda Staunton in any role she does. Also saw the trailer for Infamous, the *other* Capote movie. This one looks less snoozeworthy than the first, plus it has Sandra Bullock (not quite selling the accent, but whatever), Daniel Craig is a hotter Perry, and Gwyneth Paltrow was a surpise crooning as Peggy Lee. So let's just say I'm intrigued.
