Ah, LJ! You poor, abandoned thing! I don't really like the new version. I guess I'm not too fond of changes, lol.
Some times I'm thinking that I would like to start a blog, and write about random nonsense. Then I remember that I have LJ, and that it's never updated, and a fear a blog would probably suffer the same fate. Maybe if I actually had something to write about, I'd be able to keep it up, but my life is as boring as ever. It would be a terribly boring blog.
So yeah, life is pretty much same old. We've been house owners for over one year now! (Though we haven't lived here that long). It's great and I love it! It's far from my family, so I don't get to see that as much as I like. Their health is bad, so they don't want the "long" drive (it's only about one hour one way) over here to visit me, so I try to visit them when I can, usually about once a month. I try to not use the car too much, since it needs a check up and it's very thirsty. It's darn expensive to be a car owner. I don't have a network here, so I don't have anyone to visit or anyone who visits me, so the places for me to go is quite limited. Hanging around at the local malls can also prove to be very expensive, lol.
So I usually spend my time hanging around the house, reading books, doing cross stitching and watching TV. I'm not a very outgoing person, and quite an introvert. Why is it so terribly difficult to get to know new people? How does one make friends as an adult? I'm not very lonely though. I got my job, and I work a lot. I also do a lot of overtime. That means money in the bag, outside of budget! *Big grin* And I need that, seeing how my hubby decided to cancel our honeymoon :(. We were planning on doing a cruise in the Caribbean in October this year, but he thinks that it's better to keep the money on the savings account in backup in case something happens to the house or the cars. He is of course right, but I'm disappointed none the less. A lot of people tell me that we can go on an honeymoon when we retire(!), but I think that's planning a little too far ahead! I love traveling, I'm not ready to give it up, just because we've settled down! We might find a compromise though, and taking a cheaper vacation. Maybe we'll go to The Netherlands and visit the crazy Dutch people (seems like they're having spring already!) or maybe London, Paris or the Canary Islands. We'll see. It will probably come to nothing.
I'm considering getting a pair of rabbits. I think that would be nice company. They can live outside during the summer, and move inside during winter. Husband is negative (as always), so I need to work a bit more on him. We still got two hamsters, and they're lovely! It would be nice to have a pet you don't need to replace every other year though...
