Buying skin?

When I got my phone a few months ago I also bought a chic-looking but rather awkward case.  The phone slides in two directions and is mostly screen, so there isn't a lot of scope for casing it, but it was new and sleek and I didn't want to get it scratched.  Also, when it rings and I'm fumbling for it in my bag I'm almost guaranteed to push the button dismissing the call.

But the case is made of crap, and it's getting ratty.  Unlike my PDA which lives in an eagle-ray skin cover (made by the now sadly defunct n-signia of Australia) and has a calfskin cover and a titanium cover (for all occasions), the usual suspects (like Piel Frama in Spain) have stayed away from creating a fitted case for the Nokia N95 8GB.

So when I saw a vinyl skin that a friend made for her phone I toyed with the idea.  Her skin company doesn't sell outside the US, so I did a bit of google-fu and came up with a company called MyTego that does vinyl skins in Europe.  I messed around for a bit and left the tab open for about four or five months.  Tonight I finally downloaded some graphics (a hawking illumination from the Codex Manesse and some nice bits of the Luttrell Psalter) and fit them to the template in the nifty little java gadget that creates the skin.  Then I googled MyTego voucher and found a 25% off discount code.  The whole thing cost me about 18 euros including shipping, which is cheaper than the case I bought from Nokia (which cost £15).

We shall see.
