We didn't make it back to Detroit until almost 6, and within 10 minutes of my bus arriving, my mom & dad walked through the door of the bus terminal.
We drove home through more rain. FUCKING RAIN WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR THE LAST TWO WEEKS and WHY DO YOU HAVE TO ARRIVE IN TIME TO GIVE ME A BLOODY HEADACHE FOR THE ENTIRE 28 HOUR TRIP????? Seriously. It rained from Salina, KS to Chicago, IL. Thundering, lightening, RAIN. And WIND. Then it started up again once we crossed the Canada - US border, and it rained on me all the way home to London.
MEH.
My mom has gone to bed, I think my dad is watching CSI: Miami, like he does every night. I've called Nate to let him know that I got home OK.
I was welcomed by Flash the dog, Bailey the cat, and the neighbor ROFL.
I'm in my old bedroom again. It feels weird.
The crossing of the Canada - US border on the way to London was STUPIDLY SIMPLE. My dad pulled up to the little booth at the end of the tunnel, the border patrol guard asked if we had anything to declare, my dad said "no", and he shooed us on our way. He didn't even ASK to look at ID. Just "OK then, have a nice day." My mom & dad both said the trip to the US was just as ridiculously easy. They told the border guard in that direction that they were going to Detroit to pick their daughter up at the bus station. He waved them through as well.
I hope the same set of crew is on on Saturday afternoon *laughs* I couldn't get so lucky.
And just in some incredibly shocking to me news, my mother HAS A CELL PHONE. And has had one for OVER A YEAR. I didn't even KNOW. I have never had the phone number, and she's never mentioned it til now. The only reason I discovered it is because it beeped at her while we were in Detroit, because Rogers sent her a text message saying "Welcome to the US. This is how you check your messages while you are gone.... yadda yadda yadda." MY MOTHER. A CELL PHONE. *shakes head*
