My semester starts back up this coming Friday. So today at the gym I thought it would be a good idea to start on the reading for my first classes. The class I chose to start with? Maternity. Sounds all warm and fuzzy, huh? Which it is, for the most part. Until this morning.
There I was, innocently reading about all the physiological changes a pregnant woman deals with, and amazed at the fact that as birth nears, the uterus nearly touches the xiphoid process. (For all you non-anatomy people, that's the bottom of your breastbone). WOW.
I was all comfortable in the wonder and amazement of birth. And then I was rudely yanked from it. Thanks to a picture. The only picture I was confronted with.
What could this have been? What could have pulled me from my state of awe and appreciation of the pregnant form? I will spare you, dear readers, of the actual photo, because I love you. And because I don't want to be responsible for you heaving the contents of your stomach all over your laptop or PC.

It was a very clear, full color, almost close-up, of a pregnant woman with hemmoroids.
That's right. Today I was subjected to the inflamed, angry poop chute of a very pregnant woman. (and you can only imagine how happy her visage might have been knowing her raging rectum was being photorgraphed for millions to view). If I had already eaten lunch, I would have lost it.
I guess this is just a sign of things to come this semester........
