A Message From God
Hey dummies! Dramatic, changeable weather is the earth telling you it's warming and you better prepare for it. Believe what you want about the cause; natural or man made, but it is happening. And speaking of fossil fuels, you DO realize there is a finite amount of them, right? What does it matter if the massive amounts of CO2 you pump into the atmosphere is contributing to the problem; you're going to have to find other fuels within a few decades, not centuries, anyway so why not start now? And I do not send earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, hurricanes, droughts or blizzards to frighten, punish or send messages to anyone. That's just way the earth has always behaved. Hurricane season comes around every year; the reason there seem to be more tornadoes is you have communication networks so you know they're there; if you will insist on building homes and communities literally on the water's edge and in flood plains, expect to lose them to storms, and building cities in the desert without considering where the water to sustain them is coming from is stupid. Oh, and the earthquakes in so called odd places that pop up from time to time; you do remember you're living on pieces of rock floating over liquid rock, right? This means the pieces break, pull apart, grind past, and push under each other. Sometimes you can see the breaks, sometimes you can't. And in case no one told you, geologist have known for years there's fault lines all through the North American continent, even under New York City. The worse fault, the New Madrid, is right in the middle of the country and in the early 1800's, changed the course of the Mississippi River. Reread your high school history book. And don't get me started about building communities around faulty dikes and levies and trying to keep a river from changing course. Guess what; eventually the river wins!! Most of the disasters you blame on me are YOUR doing. If the people of Indonesia had been told to run for the hills when the earth moves, the death toll from the tsunami would have been much lower, but natural disasters happen and sometimes people die. I'm sorry if that comes as a shock to you, but it's true, all you can do is try and lessen the loss of life. In short, I would appreciate it if you would stop blaming me for your screw ups. I blessed you with memory, reason and skill; use them!
