I don't know. Ask Vanessa Redgrave. But I don't know Vanessa Redgrave!

Mystery solved! My aunt was trying to get in touch with me out of the blue because she had an extra ticket to ThisI couldn't believe my good fortune. nice! even though it stunk..i really loved the book, but i know what you mean about joan didion, she seems so tiny and affected but vanessa redgrave feels so in charge. in other words, i agree that would be distracting. I'm glad you got to see it, jealous even! :)

It didn't stink! I know comparing the final moments of it to "dreadful sex" makes it seem beyond awful, but really it wasn't. I mean bad sex is still, you know sex. I think it was really my comparison that stunk! The play was pretty good. I mean, it just wasn't as orgasmic as I expected it to be. I think I'm being ungrateful though -- It's as if I took bite into some really incredible chocolate and then shouted, "What? There's no solid gold coin in this chocolate!?!?! Unacceptable!"

Regrave, though engrossing, was a weird choice though and Laura and I both found ourselves wondering who would have been a better choice. Amusingly, Laure began to think while watching the play that theater actress Rosemary Harris might have been a better choice (I only know of her as Aunt May in the Spiderman movies), and, wouldn't you know it, on our way out of the theater, we saw Rosemary Harris sitting just a few rows behind us.

One imagines Didion fitting comfortably into an overnight bag.

This is the best sentence of the day.

What a great little write-up. I love your posts.

Thanks, I'm taken with the image myself, provided, of course, that Didion is comfortable. I'd hate to think of her "stuffed" in an overnight bag.

I always look forward to your colorful blog boxes--I'm glad they are back!
