Oct. 6th, around 2 PM, open to eavesdropping/threadjacking/etcmidnitepsychOctober 7 2009, 20:16:08 UTC
What with the weather getting colder lately, Weavile was beginning to worry about getting sick. Normally, the cold was not a problem in his Pokemon form. But unfortunately, his human form was much more susceptible. So he decided to stop by the nurse's office to see if Birdo could suggest any helpful hints to keep from getting sick.

"Good afternoon!" Catherine greeted him happily. She recognized this one, but his name escaped her. One of the counselors, wasn't he? "May I help you?"

"Afternoon," Weavile nodded his head in greeting. "Yes, I'd be most grateful for your assistance. You see, I'm rather sensitive to colds, and with the temperature decreasing, I'm a tad worried. Do you have suggestions to avoid colds? Or perhaps some recommended medicine you think I should take if I do feel myself becoming sick?"

She nodded. "For the most part, avoiding a cold is common sense. Dress warmly, stay as dry as possible, and wash your hands more often- after all, this is still a school, and any place full of this many people will spread illnesses like wildfire, unfortunately. If you do come down with something, then I keep a supply of cold medicine, or the school store should keep it in stock. Is that all?"

"Hm, alright. I'll keep those in mind, thank you," he nodded.
Pausing for a moment, he replied, "Yes, I believe that's all." Now that he thought about it, Weavile didn't know that much about Birdo. They had met infrequently, but never really spoken with each other. This seemed like the perfect opportunity. "Actually, if you aren't busy right now, I wouldn't mind having a little chat. I've been trying to get to know many of the other faculty members a bit better."

"I'd enjoy that, actually! I've been meaning to do something similar, to tell the truth. I could make some tea, if you'd like, Mr...?" Catherine, calm down. Someone just asking to chat for a while should not make you this exited.

"Weavile," he supplied as he sat down. "And thank you, I'd like that. I apologize that we have not spoken very often." Chuckling, he added, "I tend to hole myself up in my office and spend most of my time reading."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, then, Mr. Weavile. Call me Catherine," she answered from towards the back of her office, busying herself with the kettle. "Oh believe me, you're not alone. Though, I'm almost out of new things to read... I should make that bookstore run soon..." That last part was more thinking out loud than anything else.

Smirking, he replied, "Catherine it is, then."
"I frequently make trips downtown or to the library to get new books. Though I believe one of the last times I went was with Lugia," Weavile smiled at the memory. "I always find it more enjoyable to go into town with company."

She nodded in agreement. "Oh, of course. Then again, most things are more fun with company." Finally, she came back with two cups of tea, handed one to the pokemon, and took a seat.

"Thank you," he accepted the cup. He blew on it for a moment before letting it rest in his hands. "Yes, I agree. Especially the faculty drinking nights. It's always quite amusing to be around everyone in those sorts of situations."

"oh, my, yes!" Catherine laughed, "Those are always a joy. I'm afraid I missed the last one, though... Anything of note I should know about? If you went, I mean."
Re: Oct. 6th, around 2 PM, open to eavesdropping/threadjacking/etcmidnitepsychOctober 8 2009, 22:11:10 UTC
Weavile let out a quiet 'hm' as he recalled the evening. "No, nothing out of the ordinary. Though I do believe quite a few people were surprised at seeing Lash work there. But she did an impeccable job, so hopefully there were no major complaints."
As an after thought, he quickly added, "Oh, I apologize. You do know Lash, don't you? It's rather difficult not to."

"Ah, yes... She's that girl who started working at the birdcage recently, right? I have to say, that's hardly a place for someone as young as her to be working." She shook her head disapprovingly. Even if Lash only worked in the restaurant area... Oh well. The magypsies must have had some reason for it.

"You think so? Well, I don't know that much about the place we went to. Other than the fact that Blacky is particularly fond of it," he chuckled. "Though I suppose having a high school student work at any establishment that also functions as a bar might raise some eyebrows."

"Ah, well..." Catherine cleared her throat, clearly a little awkward, "It's... Well, it's a gay bar. The management and employees are all quite lovely people, but that doesn't change that, at times, it can get a little... Oh, you know what I mean, I'm sure."
